Caps Preseason Game #1: Capitals Vs BlackHawks

Huzzah! Hockey is back, kinda, preseason hockey as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Washington Capitals at the partially renovated Capital One Arena in DC. A mix of Capitals, Bears and some college/Stingrays players out there.

Pheonix Copley is your starting goalie tonight

Real Fake Hockey Is underway

1st period

Tom Wilson is wearing an “A” tonight isn’t that nice…

Chicago gets on the board with a tip in front of Copley, Aleksi Saarela seemed to be the last to touch it, he burned Hershey in the playoffs last year, a hat trick in Game 4 with the Charlotte Checkers who eliminated Hershey in a straight sweep.

Copley with an impressive 4×4 saves, Caps fans should get ready for more of this in the future.

That’s all for the 1st period
Hawks 1 Caps 0

RIAT IN FRONT, THEY SCORE, RIAT WITH A DIRTY GOAL!! TIE GAME 1-1

Blackhawks get it back and retake the lead, 2-1

TRAVIS BOYD SCORES, Former Hershey Bear, Power Play Goal!! Caps tie it again, 2-2
Always love it when Boyd scores in Dc, go watch his Game 7 goal against WBS in 2016, the greatest OT Goal in Bears history, I’m a bit biased because I was there.

High scoring and high flying in the 2nd, I love it!

PROTAS SCORES, the 3rd round pick, and Prince Albert Raider, 3-2 WASHINGTON!

Chicago ties it with a sick goal 3-3,
From BlackHawks talk on Twitter, that’s just not fair!

Get Ready for the 3rd Period
Caps 3 Hawks 3

Defense appears to have calmed the game down, Copley still with some good saves

Going to Overtime in the preseason, Woo

Back and forth chances in OT

TOM WILSON HAS ENDED TEH GAME, GOES IN THE ZONE HIMSELF AND SCORES.

GAME OVER
Capitals 4
BlackHawks 3

Final Thoughts: The young guns showed some strides tonight after the 1st period with Riat, Boyd, and Protas getting goals, it took 2 periods, but the defense tightened up late in the game. Snively and McMichieal sounded good on the broadcast and hopefully get an extended look with the red, white, and blue.
Protas with 3 points on the night, (Goal and 2 Assists),
Copley went 27 saves on 30 shots,
Colin Delia for Chicago went 25 for 29

Next up: The Capitals are back at it on Wednesday to take on the current, reigning and defending Stanley Cup Champions, St Louis Blues.
Good Night Everyone!
