Caps Holtby named to 2018 NHL All-Star game
Braden Holtby is heading back to the NHL All-Star game for the third consecutive year. Holtby is currently second in the NHL in wins with 24, and currently has a save percentage of .917 and a goals against average of 2.68 which is one of the best among NHL starting goalies.
Holtby has been arguing the teams MVP this season winning 24 of his 32 starts this season. With a younger defencemen Holtby has seen a total of 996 shots this season 13 highest among the league.
He will be joined with his teammate Alex Ovechkin who will also be the Team Captain to the Metropolitan team along with his coach Barry Trotz,. Also equipment manager Brock Myles was selected to be the equipment manager for Team Metropolitan in Tampa as well.
Biggest surprise to me was John Carlson being snubbed of the team. He’s second among defencemen in points with 34 points, and fourth in total ice time.
“I’m happy with the way I’m playing right now and looking forward to continuing it” Carlson said to NBC Sports Washington Tarik El-Bashir after last night game.
Best of Luck in Tampa Ovi, Holtby, Trotz and Myles!!!
