Caps Fall to Jets in OT 4-3

The Washington Capitals fall short again tonight continuing there losing streak of four games. The Caps blew a two point lead in the third period, and let in a goal after the Jets pulling goalie Connor Hellebuyck and scoring the tying goal with less than 40 seconds in the game.

After NicklasĀ Backstrom lost a face off Jets forward Mark Scheifele broke forward and set up Tyler Myers in the slot for a one timer goal.

The lost wasn’t due to Braden Holtby lack of play. Holtby stopped 40 shots and the goal that tied the game was questionable due to former Capital Matthew Perreault skate collided with Holtby’s pad.

To me as a former tendy it was goalie interference. Holtby was unable to push off his right leg to make a save while Perreault was questionably in the crease.

Other than a bad lost John Carlson scored his 10 goal of the season that now puts him third in the NHL in points among defensemen, and Evgeny Kuznetsov continued his eight game point streak.
