Capitals look to return to form against the Bruins

The Washington Capitals are looking to rebound after a tough loss to the Detroit Red Wings. In the previous game, the Capitals had a total of nine penalties against them. These are not ideal numbers for a game, however, Coach Carbery, started a lot of young players who are fighting for bottom six roles. Tonight, he is bringing back a lot of the veteran players who sat last game.

Some of those veteran players are Sonny Milano, Dylan Strome, Nic Dowd, Tom Wilson, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nicolas Aube-Kubel as well as Darcy Kuemper in goal. What bringing in veteran players does, is not only get them ready for the regular season, but also allows some of the younger players like Conner McMichael, Beck Malenstyn, and Alex Limoges a chance to play with the veterans and see how they gel in a game. With the start of the regular season, being a week from Friday, its important to see how the young players mesh with the older players, in order to create the best lines going forward.

One player who is noticeably absent from this veteran infused lineup is the captain, Alex Ovechkin. With Ovi, being one of the oldest players on the team at age 38, it is very important to keep him fresh, and rested for the regular season.
