Can Morgan State bounce back Vs. UAlbany
Morgan State Athletics
Morgan State University’s Bears lost to Towson State University’s Tigers last Saturday 20-10. The Bears look to win their first home game of the season as they play the University at Albany Great Danes this Saturday.
Both teams come into this matchup 1-2 looking to get back in the win column as both teams lost their last two games. In their three all-time contests, Albany has won all three.
Both offenses are on different sides of the spectrum at this point in the season. The Bears are averaging 16.0 points per game and the Great Danes are averaging 23.6 points per game.
After a three-interception game from Junior quarterback Duce Taylor, you have to wonder who will start this week for the Bears. Sophomore Dominique Anthony went 6/12 for 58 yards and Grad Carson Baker went 5/8 for 34 yards so coach Damon Wilson has an interesting decision to make at quarterback.
Anthony said, “We are still trying to find our identity as an offense and we’re working each and every day to find that out,”
The Bears’ defense looks to start right where they left off last week as they shoutout Towson In the second half. As stated this Danes Offense can score. They look to their quarterback Reese Poffenbarger to lead them as he can get it done through the air and on the ground. The Danes also take good care of the ball only turning it over twice so far.
Albany has two key playmakers on defense. First Junior defensive back Aamir Hall who has two interceptions and five passes defended so far. The other is Defensive lineman Anton Juncaj who has six sacks so far. Juncaj had a four-sack game against Fordham and a two-sack game against Hawaii. This Albany defense has shown that they can get after the quarterback with five sacks against Hawaii and 10 sacks against Fordham. The Morgan offensive line will have their hands full this Saturday.
