Braden Holtby had a rollercoaster season but showed up when it counted
Matt Bachota & Sean Meekins
Braden Holtby for the most part was outstanding for the Washington Capitals all year in between the pipes.
In the playoffs, he made some saves that not many goalies could do, nor will he ever do the same saves again. Some games in the playoffs, Holtby led the team by stopping practically everything that came his way. He will continue to be a force in the net in the future for the Capitals.
In this years playoffs, Braden Holtby was phenomenal in goal. In the Stanley Cup series, he had a better save percentage than Marc-Andre Fleury.
Considering Fleury had been the best goalie up until the Stanley Cup Final, this was a hard task to do. Holtby put everything on the line in the playoffs every single game. With a offense like the Capitals had, Braden Holtby is the perfect back piece to keep Washington in tight games. Even without being the starting goalie in game one of the playoffs because of his late season struggles, Braden made the best of an opportunity by stepping in and taking the Capitals all the way to a championship run.
