Bowie State University women’s softball standout Taylor Dawkins was selected as an NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Player to Watch on Oct. 20, 2026. The Ridgely, Maryland, native enters the 2027 season after a productive 2026 campaign that established her as one of the Bowie State Bulldogs’ top offensive performers.
Dawkins helped the Bulldogs finish the 2026 season with a perfect 16-0 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association record and a 24-21 overall record. She earned First Team All-CIAA honors as a utility player and D2CCA First Team All-Atlantic Region recognition.
Taylor Dawkins Led Bowie State in Major Offensive Categories
Dawkins led Bowie State with a .413 batting average while appearing in 40 games and making 37 starts. She recorded 52 hits, eight doubles, two triples and eight home runs during the 2026 season. She also drove in 40 runs, scored 32 runs and collected 88 total bases. Dawkins finished with a .698 slugging percentage, a .460 on-base percentage and 11 stolen bases in 13 attempts. Her 2026 totals were the highest on the Bowie State roster in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, RBIs, home runs and total bases.
Dawkins also contributed defensively at multiple positions, supporting her selection as a First Team All-CIAA utility player.
Regional Honors Continue for Bowie State Standout
Dawkins was one of five Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association student-athletes recognized on the D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team. Her NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Player to Watch selection adds another regional distinction to her First Team All-CIAA and D2CCA honors.
