Bowie Baysox monthly recap April 4- April 29

With Spring Training definitely in the rear view mirror for baseball in general, the Bowie Baysox have been playing on a daily basis in regular season play. Unfortunately, they have come out flat and have been unable to replicate success from years past.

This article will recap each of the Baysox games, who is hot, and who to watch going forward. Without further ado, here is the Bowie Baysox recap of the season so far!

So as one can see from the scores, the Bowie Baysox offense is struggling. The pitching is keeping the team in games, but obviously the offense is not coming through.

Through 24 games, here are the team leaders in various statistics:

ERA: Zach Pop (0.87, 7 appearances)

Strikouts: Hunter Harvey (21, 17.2 innings pitched)

Wins: Tyler Erwin (2)

Batting Average: Rylan Bannon (.282, 85 at bats)

Home Runs: Rylan Bannon (3)

RBI: Rylan Bannon (13)

Evidently, Rylan Bannon has been leading the team thus far. However, it is not enough, as the team now sits at just 5-19.

I would expect the team to get better, as younger pitchers such as Zac Lowther, Alex Wells, and Hunter Harvey continue to get better and adjust to the Double A level. I would also expect to see more offense from players such as Yusniel Diaz (when healthy) and Ryan McKenna.

This team has a lot of potential, but it is young and still adjusting to a new coaching staff and new regime.
