Bellator Goes Back To Back

After a Bellator 215 last night that left a bad taste in many fight fans mouths, as well as bad feeling in Kharitonov’s crown jewels Bellator goes back to back. Bellator 216 “Page vs Daley” goes down tonight at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

While the main card at 215 was less than impressive they did have two bright spots. Austin Vanderford impressed with a beautiful first round submission over Cody Jones to move to 7-0. John Douma with a stellar first round submission over Mike Kimbel, was a beautiful way to follow it up. After that things got a little boring to be honest. The nightcap was Mitrione vs. Kharitonov which ended up with the Russian getting capped in his crown jewels.

Bellator 216 offers many chances to bounce back as they bring a much stronger card and some interesting match ups. Former champ Vitaly Minakov vs Cheick Kongo should be a fun heavyweight fight. Whoever wins this one will find themselves across the cage from heavyweight champion Ryan Bader. Mirko Cro Cop makes his Bellator debut in the heavyweight division against Roy “Big Country” Nelson in a rematch from several years ago. Eric Silva battles the undefeated Yaroslav Amosov. Valerie Loureda makes her promotional debut as well against Colby Fletcher.

Michael “Venom” Page will finally get his shot at Paul “Semtex” Daley in this long overdue match up. A grudge match to be sure no matter what either fighter says. Tensions are high and both men desperately want to win bragging rights in this one. While “Venom” vs “Semtex” sounds like a Marvel comic book. These two guys should deliver a superhero showdown as both are threats to put out your lights from any angle. Tornado kicks, flying knees, hell back flips into a DDT there is no telling what you might see. At the end of the night I believe Bellator will restore the fans delight.
