Baltimore Ravens Week Three Recap
The Baltimore Ravens… showed up… this Sunday… I think? They got blown out like an old tire, losing 44 to seven to the Jacksonville Jaguars at old Wembley Stadium.
Yes, you read that right. The Ravens lost by 37 to Blake Bortles and the Jaguars. The offense was nonexistent, the defense had more holes than a golf course, and the most memorable part of the day for the Ravens was kneeling for the anthem.
I don’t even know what to say about today’s “performance” other than that it was a typical trap game. “Sacksonville” was in full effect and the Ravens were unable to get anything going on every side of the ball.
Joe Flacco threw for only 28 yards and was benched late in the third quarter for Ryan Mallett. Mallet thankfully threw a touchdown pass to tight end Ben Watson late in the fourth quarter… against the Jaguars backups… while phenom running back Alex Collins carried the team on the drive.
The only positive I can take from today’s game is that the Ravens aren’t as bad as we saw today. With going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week, the Ravens need to rebound better than Dennis Rodman. Thankfully the Ravens play some of their best football against the Steelers and they have some revenge built up after last Christmas’ agonizing defeat.
Spin zone: At least this game can possibly mean that the Ravens won’t have to go back to London anytime soon.
