Baltimore Orioles Agree to Terms With Jackson Holliday
The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to terms with Jackson Holliday to a contract yesterday with a bonus of 8.19 million dollars. The slot value for the number one pick this year was 8.84 million which means the Orioles will be saving about 650K. The Orioles had the largest bonus pool in this year’s draft and the second highest in MLB history at 16.933 million and can spend 5% over that number without losing any future draft picks. Jackson is in rare company with fellow 1st round picks Druw Jones, Spencer Torkelson, Gerrit Cole, and Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman as the only five players in draft history to top the 8 million threshold.
