Wehiwa Aloy Advances Following Strong High-A Campaign
Wehiwa Aloy, a 22-year-old infielder drafted 31st overall in the 2025 MLB Draft out of Arkansas and 2025 Golden Spikes Award winner, has impressed in his first full professional season. Before his promotion, Aloy hit .300 with 15 home runs and 69 RBIs in 84 games at Frederick. He ranked sixth in batting average and third in RBIs in the South Atlantic League. In July 2026, Aloy elevated his performance further, batting .429 with seven doubles, four home runs, and a 1.229 OPS over 18 games.
His promotion marks the first time since Adley Rutschman in 2021 that a Golden Spikes Award winner has played for the Baysox.
Additional Orioles Prospects Move Up to Double-A
Joining Aloy is Victor Figueroa, the Orioles’ minor league home run leader with 22 homers, who batted .271 with 74 RBIs in 79 games this season. Figueroa was acquired from the San Diego Padres in July 2025 as part of a trade for Ryan O’Hearn and Ramon Laureano.
Pitcher Caden Hunter, the Orioles’ No. 11 prospect, posted a 1.60 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 45 innings at Frederick. The sixth-round pick in 2025 from Southern California is expected to make his Double-A debut as the probable starter on July 29 against the Altoona Curve.
Relief pitcher Joe Glassey also earned promotion after a strong High-A season with a 2-0 record, 2.86 ERA, and 50 strikeouts over 28.1 innings. Glassey signed as an undrafted free agent from the University of Illinois in 2024.

The Baysox began their series at Altoona on July 28, 2026, with the promoted prospects set to debut in the coming games. Chesapeake returns to Prince George’s Stadium on August 4 to begin a six-game series against the Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
