Baltimore Orioles make pair of trades at deadline.

Jack Flaherty comes from the St. Louis Cardinals and Logan Rinehart from the Seattle Mariners bolstering the starting rotation.

The Baltimore Orioles were buyers at the trade deadline and it only cost them a few players, a big of peanuts, and a bucket of balls. The first trade came at 4:16pm when the Orioles sent Eduard Bazardo to the Seattle Marienrs for High-A closer Logan Rinehart. Bazardo made on appearance with the big club but had a lot of trouble with his control and was immediately sent down after the game was completed.

Logan Rinehart, 25, was previously on Seattle's High-A minor league team and had a 6-6 record with 12 saves, 151 strikeouts, and a 3.37 ERA. He was previously starting pitcher but the Mariners felt he could do better as a closer. He owns a solid fastball, topping out around 97mph, along with a power curve, and sinkerball.

The other deal that was completed was with St. Louis Cardinals as the Orioles bolstered their rotation with the addition of starting pitcher Jack Flaherty, a 27-year old right-handed pitcher who was once a highly touted prospect within the organization. He was a former first-round pick of the Cardinals in 2014. He's 41-31 with a career ERA of 3.58 and 706 strikeouts.
