Baltimore Orioles at Colorado Rockies Lineups 5/24/19

John Means wasn’t on anyone’s radar before the season, but he goes to the mound today as one of the steadying forces for the baby Baltimore Orioles. In 11 games, seven of which were starts, Means has gone 5-4 with a 2.68 ERA. He came into the 2019 season with just one major league appearance. The outing lasted 3 1/3 innings of relief last season. Means five victories are one-third of the team’s total victories this season.

On the hill for the Rockies today will be call up Jeff Hoffman. Twice this season the righty was in line to be called up and to start for the Colorado Rockies, and both times, inclement weather washed out or whited out his opportunities.

The Baltimore Orioles are in a continued losing streak having lost six straight and 13 of their last 15 games. The Orioles are headed to Denver after getting swept at home in a four game series by the rival New York Yankees.
