At Last! Towson Ends Four Game Skid with Win over UNCW

Towson, MD – The Towson Tigers (11-5, 1-2 CAA), were finally able to bounce back from their horrible four game road trip that saw them lose all of their contests, with a victory against the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks (4-11, 1-2 CAA) by a score of 89-71. After the teams went blow for blow in the first half, the Tigers were finally able to pull away to earn their first conference victory of the season at SECU Arena.

Senior Forward Mike Morsell was the main contributor in this one, as he racked up 24 points. Overall, Towson had 6 players reach double figures, including Zane Martin, Brian Starr, Justin Gorham, Eddie Kieth II, and Jordan McNeil. Jordan McNeil was the spark that lead to the Tigers pulling away as he knocked down consecutive three pointers in the second half to give Towson a large cushion.

Up Next: Towson gets a rematch against the other CAA powerhouse, College of Charleston on Sunday at 2 PM in SECU Arena. This comes off of the heels of their last meeting this past week in which Towson lost by a score of 73-62. This game should be really entertaining and close.
