Aron Estrada Leads Chesapeake Baysox Past Reading Fightin Phils With Five Hits and Two Homers

Aron Estrada led the Chesapeake Baysox past the Reading Fightin’ Phils, with five hits and two home runs, after the Baysox defeated the Fightin’ Phils 9-3 on Saturday night, Aug. 15, 2026, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania. Estrada recorded the first five-hit and multi-homer game of his career, finishing with five RBIs.

Estrada Homers Twice in Career Performance

Estrada opened the game by sending the first pitch into the left-field seats for his 20th home run of the season. The leadoff homer was his fourth of the year and gave the Chesapeake Baysox an early lead.

Estrada homered again in the third inning, driving the first pitch he saw to left-center field for his 21st home run of the season. He added a run-scoring single in the fourth inning, an infield single in the sixth and a two-run double in the eighth to complete his five-hit night.

The performance marked the 30th five-hit game in Chesapeake Baysox history and the first since John Rhodes recorded five hits on June 16, 2024, in Harrisburg.

Chesapeake Baysox Collect 15 Hits

Chesapeake added a run in the third inning after Frederick Bencosme and Thomas Sosa hit back-to-back doubles. Victor Figueroa opened the fourth inning with a solo home run, his third at the Double-A level.

Dom Keegan followed with a two-run home run in the fifth inning. It was Keegan’s fifth Baysox homer and extended his home-run streak to three consecutive games.

The Chesapeake Baysox finished with 15 hits and eight extra-base hits. Eight of nine Baysox players recorded at least one hit, while Wehiwa Aloy produced his second three-hit game at the Double-A level.

JT Quinn Makes Double-A Debut

Right-hander JT Quinn made his Double-A debut with the Chesapeake Baysox and completed four innings. He allowed one run on three hits and struck out six batters.

Right-hander Trace Bright pitched the rest of the game and earned the win. Bright struck out seven batters, and the source lists his record as 1-2.

Chesapeake Baysox Schedule

The Chesapeake Baysox were scheduled to finish their six-game series in Reading on Sunday night against Reading Fightin’ Phils right-hander Jean Cabrera. Chesapeake right-hander Caden Hunter was scheduled to start, with first pitch set for 5:15 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Chesapeake was scheduled to open a six-game home series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026. First pitch was scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET.
