Montgomery College Men’s Basketball Splits Opening Weekend Behind Zamir Brown’s 40 Points as Montgomery College opened its 2026-27 season with a split at the Rockville Campus. Montgomery College built a 41-27 halftime lead against Paul D. Camp Community College but could not protect the advantage. Paul D. Camp outscored Montgomery College 47-32 in the second half to secure the 74-73 victory.
Zamir Brown led Montgomery College with 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Israel (Izzy) Garcia and Jesse Tshipamba each scored nine points, while Alexander Greenfield added eight points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Montgomery College Responds Against Washington Adventist University (JV)
Montgomery College held a 26-23 halftime lead against Washington Adventist University (JV) before scoring 46 points in the second half. The 72-56 victory gave Montgomery College its first win of the season.
Brown scored 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and grabbed six rebounds. Khi Thomas added 13 points, while Taj’drick Randolph Jr. scored 10 points off the bench.
Montgomery College recorded 17 steals and eight blocked shots in the victory. Garcia recorded five steals, while Clement Ntumba finished with four steals and two blocks.

Montgomery College is scheduled to host the MC Tip-Off Classic at the Rockville Campus. The schedule lists Montgomery College against Delaware Technical Community College at 7 p.m. Saturday and against Mercer County Community College at 5 p.m. Sunday.
