Mount St. Mary’s University women’s tennis won four of five matches on day two of the Morgan State Invitational on October 26, 2026, including one doubles victory. The Mountaineers also recorded three singles wins, while Anya Rosenbach, Venus Tang, Margherita Trolese and Kaajal Ramisetty finished the weekend undefeated after competing on both days.
Women’s Tennis Wins Four Matches on Day Two
Eirini Tsakiri and Anya Rosenbach defeated Polina Zelentsova and Yelyzaveta Sylka 6-4, 6-1 in doubles. Venus Tang then defeated Mina Randjelovic 6-1, 6-2 in singles, while Margherita Trolese beat Sofiia Shaparenko 6-2, 6-1.
Kaajal Ramisetty completed the women’s singles wins with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Nadja Zmukic. Emma Kaden lost to Iva Janketic 0-6, 1-6 in the remaining women’s singles match, giving the team four wins in five matches for the day.
Men’s Tennis Posts Multiple Wins at Morgan State
Mount St. Mary’s University men’s tennis also competed on day two at Morgan State. Sergei Likhogrud and Akarsh Gaonkar each went 2-0 in singles play.
Likhogrud defeated Jacob Poole 6-0, 7-6(7), before beating Daniel Hernandez Fernandez 6-4, 6-1. Gaonkar defeated Aziz Missaoui 4-6, 6-2, 10-8, then beat Sebastiano Palma 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.
Antoine Martel and Alexi Roy defeated Ambrose Evamy and Filippo Vatteroni 6-7, 6-1, 10-8 in doubles. Federico Strocchi also won a singles match, while Martel, Roy and Strocchi each finished the day 1-1.
Men’s Tennis Athletes to Compete at ITA Conference Masters
Selected athletes from the Mount St. Mary’s University men’s tennis team are scheduled to compete in the ITA Conference Masters in Rome, Georgia. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, through Sunday, November 8.
