Huntley Leads Ravens Past Falcons in Overtime

The Baltimore Ravens pulled off another thrilling victory on Sunday night, escaping Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta with a hard-fought 30–23 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. The win moves Baltimore to 4–1 on the 2026 season and marks their third consecutive victory.

With starting quarterback Lamar Jackson ruled out due to an ankle injury sustained in Week four, and backup quarterback Tyler Huntley got the nod for his 17th career start. Things started rocky for the Ravens when safety Jessie Bates III scooped up a Mark Andrews fumble and returned it 36-yards for a touchdown, giving Atlanta an early lead. The Falcons built on that momentum as Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. found tight end Kyle Pitts for a 5-yard touchdown pass, sending the Ravens into halftime trailing 14–9.

The Ravens’ offense found its groove in the second half, with Huntley sparking the Ravens offensive unit first by completing an 18-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Henry to cut the Falcons lead 17-15. Two field goals by Falcons kicker Nick Folk gave the Falcons a 23-15 lead with just over two minutes to play. Huntley would dig down on the got to have it drive for the Ravens as he would lead an impressive six play 71 yard drive, capped off by a 7-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Devontez Walker with just 40 seconds left to play. Needing a two point conversion to tie the game, the Ravens put the ball in the hands of running back Derrick Henry. Lined up in the wildcat formation with wide receiver Zay Flowers to his side, Henry took the direct snap and rushed off the left side into the end zone to tie the game 23-23.

In the extra period the Ravens won the coin toss electing to take the ball first. Huntley and the Ravens would pick up where they left off at the end of the 4th quarter, attacking a now tired Falcons defense. On 2nd-and-goal from the Falcons one yard line, Huntley would lineup under center, and sneak into the endzone to give the Ravens their first lead since it was 3-0 just five minutes into the game.

It was now time for the Ravens defense to come up with a stop to secure the come from behind victory. On the Falcons’ final drive, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who entered the game late after fellow quarterback, and starter Michael Penix left with a rib injury, tried to spark a comeback. But safety Kyle Hamilton had other plans. After a a 20-yard completion to wide receiver Drake London. Tagovailoa dropped back to pass again looking for London, but instead found safety Kyle Hamilton sitting under the route for the interception, sealing the Ravens 30-23 victory.

Head coach Jesse Minter and the 4–1 Ravens will hit the road again next week looking for their third straight victory as they prepare for an AFC North matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.

The Ravens could be getting back some reinforcements as well as newly acquired center Cam Jurgens is expected to get his first start as a Raven next week, while outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson looks to return from a finger injury that has sidelined him since week two. Rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane is eligible to return to practice after a wrist injury in week one placed him on injured reserve for the last four weeks. But the biggest injury to keep and eye on will be quarterback Lamar Jackson, and if he will be able to return from his ankle injury, or if Tyler Huntley will get his second straight start.
