Mount St. Mary’s University men’s soccer lost to Fairfield 3-0 on Oct. 10 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, suffering its first Metro Conference defeat. The result left Mount St. Mary’s with a 2-1-2 conference record and a 2-4-6 overall record.
Goalkeeper Ryan Collins recorded six saves for Mount St. Mary’s. Felix Alschner and Christian Kyriacou combined for four of Mount’s nine shots, while Fairfield registered nine shots on goal compared with Mount St. Mary’s two.
Fairfield Scores Three Times
Fairfield took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute when Cole Doughtery scored, assisted by Massimo Murania.
Fairfield extended its advantage with goals from Pipeloore Olanrewaju in the 67th minute and Cristian Ortiz in the 87th minute. Illia Tyrkus assisted on Olanrewaju’s goal, and Sean Albritton assisted on Ortiz’s score.

Mount St. Mary’s is scheduled to travel to Rider in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. This match follows the loss to Fairfield.
