Goucher College Field Hockey Earns First Conference Win With 2-0 Shutout of Juniata College

The Goucher College field hockey team earned its first conference win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Juniata College on Oct. 10, 2026, in Baltimore, Md. Goucher improved to 5-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Juniata fell to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in conference action.

Goucher took a 1-0 lead at 23:31 of the second period when Vivian Onunga scored. The Gophers carried that advantage into halftime and added to it in the third period.

Second Goal Secures the Win for Goucher

Charlotte Bloom scored at 34:13 of the third period on a penalty stroke to give Goucher a 2-0 lead. The Gophers held Juniata scoreless through the fourth period to complete the shutout.

Juniata outshot Goucher 10-9 and held a 9-0 advantage in penalty corners. The Juniata Eagles put seven shots on goal, but Goucher goalkeeper Katie Bloom made seven saves in 60 minutes to preserve the shutout.

Statistical Leaders for Goucher College Field Hockey

Madison Usher led Goucher with three shots. Mimi Taff and Vivian Onunga recorded two shots each, while Laureen Otieno added one.

Juniata goalkeeper Kara Stringfellow made two saves. Goucher led 1-0 at halftime and 2-0 after three periods.
