The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association named Calvert Hall cross country runner George Shaffer and Gilman water polo player Jonathan Bradlee as its Athletes of the Week for competition from Sept. 28-Oct. 3, 2026. Shaffer placed fourth at the Bittersweet Invitation, while Bradlee led Gilman in wins over Loyola Blakefield and McDonogh.
George Shaffer Earns Calvert Hall Cross Country Honor
Shaffer ran a personal record under 16:00 at the Bittersweet Invitation and placed fourth. He was also the top Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association finisher at the event.
Jonathan Bradlee Leads Gilman Water Polo
Bradlee recorded eight goals, six assists, five drawn exclusions and 5 1/2 steals across two water polo matches. He led Gilman in wins over Loyola Blakefield and McDonogh.
