Howard Community College men’s soccer defeated WVU Potomac State College 4-0 on Oct. 8 in Keyser, West Virginia. Daniel Barrett led the No. 11 Dragons with two goals and an assist to improve the team’s record to 11-1-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play.
Howard dominated the match, outshooting WVU Potomac State College 28-6 and holding a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. They also recorded a 19-3 edge in shots on goal.
Daniel Barrett Leads Howard Community College
Biruk Yitayew opened the scoring in the ninth minute on an assist from Barrett. Barrett then scored in the 38th minute before Carson Feeser added a goal in the 43rd minute, assisted by Yeabsira Tesfaye.
Barrett capped the scoring with a penalty-kick goal in the 57th minute. He finished with two goals, one assist and two shots on goal, while Yitayew recorded one goal and three shots on goal.
Dragons Maintain Control After Halftime
Howard kept up the pressure in the second half, outshooting WVU Potomac State College 14-3. The match included four yellow cards in the second half and six total.
Feeser led the Dragons with 10 shots and five on goal, scoring his team-leading 13th goal of the season. Tesfaye added four shots, two on goal and one assist, while Eben Koffi recorded three shots on goal. Goalkeeper Alejandro Dealvarez made three saves to secure the shutout.

Howard Community College is scheduled to host Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.
