Coppin State University Women’s Golf Finishes Third at The Windy City Classic as Angelique Espinosa Ties Sixth

Coppin State University women’s golf finished third at The Windy City Classic, where Angelique Espinosa tied for sixth overall with a 39-over-par 255 at George Dunne National Golf Course in Oak Forest, Ill. Coppin State carded 195-over-par 1,036 across three rounds and finished 23 strokes behind Christian Brothers University for second place.

Angelique Espinosa Leads Coppin State University Women’s Golf

Espinosa opened with an 86, shot an 83 in the second round and closed with an 86. She recorded a birdie during the second round.

Genesis Lewis finished ninth overall with a 44-over-par 260. She posted rounds of 88, 89 and 83 and recorded a birdie in the opening round.

Alina Amos placed 10th at 45-over-par 261, one stroke behind Lewis. Amos opened with a 91 before posting consecutive rounds of 85, recording a birdie in each of the final two rounds.

Coppin State University Women’s Golf Returns to Competition

Isabelle Nguyen opened with a 90 and finished with a three-round total of 285. Jordyn Kyle concluded the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 99 and finished with a total of 299.

Coppin State returns to action Oct. 12-13 at Mercyhurst’s Evann Parker Memorial at Lake View CC in North East, Pa.
