McDaniel College women’s soccer first-year player Hariette Ngwatung was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 6, 2026. It marked the first weekly honor of her career.
Ngwatung scored twice last week, with one goal in each game, as McDaniel College women’s soccer went 1-0-1. McDaniel defeated Elizabethtown in a non-conference game and tied No. 17 Swarthmore, 1-1.
Ngwatung scores against No. 17 Swarthmore
Ngwatung scored her third goal of the season just over three minutes into the game against No. 17 Swarthmore. The goal was the first Swarthmore had allowed in four Centennial Conference contests and its fourth allowed through nine games.
Ngwatung also scored the game-winning goal against Elizabethtown, giving her goals in back-to-back contests. She ranks second on McDaniel College women’s soccer in goals and points this season and is fifth in the Centennial Conference in assists with three.
McDaniel College women’s soccer set to host Franklin & Marshall
McDaniel College women’s soccer was scheduled to host Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The teams were tied for fourth place in the Centennial Conference standings at the time of the announcement.
Ngwatung’s honor is McDaniel’s first since current assistant coach Jessica Weinoldt earned the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week award on Oct. 29, 2024.
