Harford Community College Athletics Names Kourtney Lewis-Orr Head Coach of Women’s Basketball

Harford Community College Athletics named former Fighting Owl Kourtney Lewis-Orr head coach of the Harford Community College women’s basketball program on Oct. 6, 2026. The Joppatowne, Maryland, native returns to Harford as a former student-athlete with coaching experience at the high school and AAU levels.

Lewis-Orr said her immediate goal is to establish a program culture built on clear standards and daily accountability.

“My immediate goal is to establish a culture built on commitment, accountability, discipline, and trust,” Lewis-Orr said. “I want our players to understand that being a part of this program is something they earn every day, not simply something they are given. Every position, every minute, every leadership opportunity, and every level of trust will be earned through preparation, effort, attitude, and consistency.”

Kourtney Lewis-Orr brings Dulaney experience to Harford

Lewis-Orr began coaching at Dulaney High School in 2018 and became the program’s head coach in 2021. During her four years as head coach, Dulaney advanced to the regional championship four times in five years and won two regional championships.

She also coached at the AAU level, serving as head coach of the Gladiators from 2020 to 2024. Lewis-Orr joined PowerMove as an assistant coach in 2025 and became its head coach in 2026.

Harford Athletic Director Ed Liesch welcomed Lewis-Orr back to the college.

“We are excited to welcome Kourtney Lewis-Orr back to Harford and to have her lead our women’s basketball program,” Ed Liesch said.

Lewis-Orr’s connection to Harford basketball

Lewis-Orr played four years of varsity basketball at Joppatowne High School from 2007 to 2011. She helped the Mariners win two regional championships and a state title before continuing her playing career at Harford Community College.

During the 2011-12 season, Lewis-Orr led the Fighting Owls with 9.4 rebounds per game while averaging 8.4 points and 1.2 blocks per game. She also led Harford with a 39 percent field-goal percentage.

Lewis-Orr recorded a career-high 17 rebounds in a 2013 victory over Garrett. After her time at Harford, she transferred to Towson University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education.

Lewis-Orr later earned a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
