Salisbury University Men’s Golf Team Six Strokes Behind Roanoke After Bulle Rock Opening Round

The Salisbury University men’s golf team shot a 23-over 311 and finished second among 11 teams after the opening round of the Battle at Bulle Rock on Monday at Bulle Rock Golf Club in Havre de Grace, Md. Salisbury University stood six strokes behind Roanoke, which led the field with a 305.

Salisbury University Men’s Golf Team Nears Tournament Lead

Alvernia University placed third at 312, followed by Stevenson at 316 and Moravian at 317. The Battle at Bulle Rock was hosted by Alvernia University at Bulle Rock Golf Club.

Colton Thomas led Salisbury University with a 5-over 77. He tied for seventh among 55 individual competitors and finished two strokes behind the co-leaders.

Ryan Henneman, Cole Velardo and Parker Pruitt each shot a 6-over 78 and were part of a five-way tie for 11th. Henneman and Velardo each made three birdies, while Pruitt recorded one birdie and 12 pars.

Jack Laur shot an 18-over 90, which counted as Salisbury University’s drop score. He tied for 46th individually.

Second and Final Round Scheduled for Tuesday Morning

The second and final round was scheduled for Tuesday at approximately 9 a.m. Salisbury University entered the final round six strokes behind Roanoke and ahead of Alvernia University, Stevenson and Moravian in the team standings.
