Frostburg State University Women’s Soccer Team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan (WV Wesleyan) 2-0 at home Saturday evening in Frostburg, Maryland, on Oct. 3. Rayiah Davis scored within the first minute, and Cassidy Paige added a second-half tap-in as Frostburg State improved to 8-2-1.
West Virginia Wesleyan dropped to 4-5-2 after being held scoreless. Frostburg State recorded 10 shots on goal, compared with seven for West Virginia Wesleyan.
Rayiah Davis Gives Frostburg State Early Lead
Frostburg State moved in front within the opening minute. Ainsley Wilson sent a cross into the box, and the ball was cleared to Rayiah Davis, who settled it before firing past West Virginia Wesleyan goalkeeper Reyna Dalton.
West Virginia Wesleyan applied pressure after the goal, but Frostburg State maintained its advantage. Madison Hinton and Mollie Rebuck created chances for the Bobcats, while Davis and Cassidy Paige also tested the West Virginia Wesleyan defense.
Cassidy Paige Adds Second-Half Goal
Frostburg State doubled its lead less than 20 minutes into the second half. Madison Hinton sent a free kick into the box, and after Dalton missed the ball, a deflection fell to Cassidy Paige for a tap-in.
Madison Hinton received credit for the assist. West Virginia Wesleyan continued to look for a goal, but Frostburg State held on for the shutout.
Frostburg State Honors Seniors Before Match
Before the match, Frostburg State honored seniors Madison Hinton, Chelsea Pettyjohn, Mia Graff and Ella Combs. The program also recognized junior Ainsley Wilson, who is scheduled to earn her undergraduate degree in three years.

Frostburg State is scheduled to host West Virginia State on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. The match will be the team’s next scheduled contest.
