Mount St. Mary’s University women’s golf stood ninth on the team leaderboard after the opening day of the Navy Fall Invite on Oct. 3 in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Summer Stroop led the Mountaineers by tying for 25th with a score of 82 (+10), while the team posted a gross score of 342 (+54).

Kate Watanasiripong tied for 40th with a score of 85 (+13), and Makenna Kamnikar tied for 44th at 86 (+14). Arianna Gonzalez tied for 47th with an 89 (+17), and Savannah Doughty tied for 52nd with a 92 (+20). Ally Legg, playing independently of Mount St. Mary’s, stood 56th with a score of 98 (+26).
Navy Holds Team and Individual Leads
Navy held first place in the team standings, eight strokes ahead of Howard in second. Howard held a five-stroke lead over Stetson in third. Emma Tang of Navy led the individual leaderboard with a score of 68 (-4). The Mountaineers remained ninth after the first day of the Navy Fall Invite.
