University of Maryland, Baltimore County men’s cross country team finished 18th among 32 teams at the 2026 Paul Short Invitational on Friday, Oct. 2, in Bethlehem, Pa. Lehigh University hosted the meet, which featured more than 300 athletes from across the region.
Junior Justin Banks led the University of Maryland, Baltimore County men’s cross country team by covering the 8K course in 25:17.5. He finished 70th among 302 competitors after moving up 10 places during the race and surging in the final mile, according to the official meet recap.

Junior Daniel Danilovitz finished 91st in 25:28.8, while senior John Saltysiak placed 96th in 25:30.8. Junior Kieran Mischke finished 107th in 25:37.4 after advancing 15 spots over the final mile.
Sophomore Michael Heinemann placed 166th in 26:04.7. Sophomore Kieran White finished 212th in 26:26.8, and freshman William Carranza rounded out the team’s scoring with a 26:36.0 time in 222nd place.

Wingate University won the team title, with seven runners finishing inside the top 36. University of Maryland, Baltimore County placed 18th in the 32-team field.
