Ava Zimmerman Scores Twice as Johns Hopkins University Women’s Field Hockey Defeats Dickinson 5-1

Ava Zimmerman scored twice as Johns Hopkins University women’s field hockey defeated Dickinson, 5-1, on Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference action in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The eighth-ranked Blue Jays improved to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while Dickinson fell to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Johns Hopkins Responds to Early Dickinson Goal

Dickinson scored first 2:46 into the game when Gillian Rosenstock finished an early penalty corner. Erin Liggio and Nicole Uebele assisted on the goal, which gave the host Red Devils an early lead.

Johns Hopkins answered less than seven minutes later, with Ava Zimmerman scoring on a short pass from Evie Hamm. Deedee Golla then put the Blue Jays ahead with 1:11 remaining in the first quarter after taking the ball from a Dickinson defender on the goal line and scoring.

Neither team scored in the second quarter, but Zimmerman added her second goal in the third quarter. Kaitlin Coward and An Tran completed the scoring for Johns Hopkins in the fourth quarter, with Zimmerman assisting Coward and Caeli Robinson assisting Tran.

Johns Hopkins finished with a 22-6 advantage in shots and a 7-5 edge in corners. Aubrey Kilgore and Jessica Lapidus split time in goal for the Blue Jays, with Lapidus making three saves.

Arden Cook made six saves for Dickinson. The victory gave Johns Hopkins its second Centennial Conference win of the season and kept the Blue Jays unbeaten in league play.

Johns Hopkins Hosts Ursinus on Oct. 3

Johns Hopkins is scheduled to host Ursinus on Oct. 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Homewood Field. The Centennial Conference contest is scheduled as the program’s third annual Kenzie Opdyke Youth Day.
