The Stevenson University women’s volleyball team fell to York (Pa.) 3-2 in MAC Commonwealth action Sept. 29, 2026, at Charles Wolf Gymnasium in York, Pa. Stevenson won the first two sets before York secured the final three, handing the Mustangs their first conference loss.
Stevenson took the opening sets 27-25 and 25-21. York answered with victories of 31-29, 25-18 and 17-15 to complete the comeback.
Rachel Lenz Leads Stevenson University Women’s Volleyball
Rachel Lenz led Stevenson with 17 kills, 20.5 points, 12 digs and a .132 hitting percentage. Logan Burge added 13 kills while hitting .542, and Autumn Henry finished with 10 kills.
Lillianna Hornickle contributed six kills and three blocks, while Maren Zepfel added seven kills. Declyn Tooze led the Stevenson offense with 21 assists, and Courtney Foose recorded 19 assists.
Isabella Terra paced the defense with 28 digs, while Lilly Eichelberger added 18 digs. Stevenson finished with 57 kills, 82 digs and seven total team blocks while hitting .134, compared with York’s .149.
York (Pa.) Rallies After Stevenson Takes 2-0 Lead
Stevenson overcame an early 2-0 deficit in the opening set and built a 16-6 advantage before York rallied to tie the score at 24-24. Kills from Lenz and Hornickle helped Stevenson regain the lead, and the Mustangs closed the set 27-25.
York led 16-11 in the second set before Stevenson responded with a 4-0 run. The Mustangs eventually tied the set at 18-18 and finished on a 7-1 run to take a 2-0 match lead.
The third set went deep into extra points. Emma Shaffer’s kill tied the score at 28-28, but York secured a 31-29 win.
York then overcame a 16-13 Stevenson lead in the fourth set and closed on a 7-1 run to force the deciding set. The fifth set remained close, with Stevenson leading 8-6 at the switch and 13-12 after a Burge kill. York took a 15-13 lead before finishing the match 17-15.

Stevenson entered the match with an 8-6 overall record and a 2-1 MAC Commonwealth record. York entered with a 3-8 overall record and a 1-2 conference record.
Stevenson will play William Paterson University at 11 a.m. and Swarthmore College at 1 p.m. Oct. 3 at the William Paterson Tri-Match.
