Coppin State University women’s volleyball junior outside hitter Deviana Walker was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced Sept. 28, 2026. Walker earned the honor after totaling 24 kills and hitting a combined .571 in Coppin State University’s victories over Howard and Norfolk State. Both marks led the MEAC after the opening weekend of conference play.
Walker opened the week against Howard with nine kills on 16 attacks and a .500 hitting percentage. She also recorded two blocks and finished with 10 points as Coppin State University women’s volleyball earned a 3-0 victory.
Against Norfolk State, Walker recorded a match-high 15 kills while hitting .625. Coppin State University women’s volleyball completed another 3-0 sweep, giving Walker 24 kills across the two victories.
Walker is from Odenton, Maryland, and was named Coppin State University’s Newcomer of the Year in 2025. Coppin State University had a 10-5 record at the time of the announcement.

Coppin State University is scheduled to host Loyola Maryland at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, for its home opener. The match is scheduled to appear on the MEAC Network.
