Salisbury University men’s golf team stood tied for sixth at 14-over par after the first day of the DIII Northeast Elite on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, while Colton Thomas tied for the individual lead with a one-under-par 70 at Williamsport Country Club in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Salisbury University was tied with Hamilton and Allegheny in a field of 18 teams when play was suspended because of darkness. The Sea Gulls were among seven teams with holes remaining in the first round.
Salisbury University remains tied for sixth
Gettysburg led the team standings at four over par, followed by Franklin & Marshall at seven over par and Penn State Altoona at nine over par. Swarthmore and Stevens shared fourth place at 10 over par, four strokes ahead of Salisbury University.
The Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference program held its position in a crowded leaderboard, although the first-round standings remained subject to change because several teams had not completed their rounds.
Colton Thomas ties for individual lead
Thomas made five birdies and four bogeys during his round. He made three consecutive birdies on holes 15, 16 and 17 before closing with a par on the 18th hole.
Thomas tied for the third-lowest score in modern Salisbury University men’s golf history. His 70 placed him in a four-way tie for the individual lead in a field of 90 golfers.
Ryan Henneman finished one stroke behind Thomas and the other co-leaders with an even-par 71. Henneman made two birdies and two bogeys and tied for fifth individually with four other golfers.
Cole Velardo had two holes remaining when play stopped and stood seven over par, tied for 62nd individually at that point. Evan Oglesby and Parker Pruitt each shot an eight-over-par 79 and tied for 67th individually.
