The Frostburg State University football team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 45-7 on Sept. 26, 2026, in Frostburg, Maryland, improving to 2-2 on the season. West Virginia Wesleyan fell to 2-3 after Frostburg State built a 31-7 halftime lead and added two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Early offensive surge gives Frostburg State control
Jordan Brooks completed 16 of 20 passes for 181 yards and one touchdown, connecting with Ray Adames for a 26-yard score. Owen Doyle led the rushing attack with 62 yards and two touchdowns, including runs from one and 25 yards.
Doyle also returned a kickoff 50 yards to the West Virginia Wesleyan 26-yard line, helping set up Frostburg State’s second touchdown. Tra’Shaun Timmons and JeVonn Gilyard combined for 10 catches and 152 yards. Timmons caught a three-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Peyton Murphy, who threw his first touchdown of the season.
Frostburg State defense creates key turnovers
Frostburg State’s defense made several crucial plays in the win. Gavin Kendrick recorded nine tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. Isaiah Osafo-Mensah returned a fumble 68 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
