Johns Hopkins University women’s soccer scored twice in the second half to defeat Haverford 2-0 on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at rain-soaked Homewood Field in Baltimore. The victory gave Johns Hopkins its second straight win and improved the team to 6-1-2 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference.
Haverford fell to 3-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the Centennial Conference. Johns Hopkins honored nine seniors and one graduate student before the match as part of Senior Day.
Johns Hopkins University women’s soccer breaks through after halftime
After a scoreless opening half, Johns Hopkins needed less than 15 minutes to score both of its goals. Junior Gwen Rauvola opened the scoring in the 54th minute, collecting a loose ball near the goal and sending her attempt inside the far post.
Rauvola entered the week without a career goal and has now scored in consecutive games. The goal was her second of the season and gave Johns Hopkins the lead on the wet Homewood Field surface.
Less than four minutes later, freshman Inara Inesi threaded a pass through the Haverford defense to Carolyn Johnson. Johnson controlled the pass and finished from close range for her third goal of the season, giving Johns Hopkins a 2-0 advantage.
Goalkeepers combine for Johns Hopkins shutout
Haverford goalkeeper Allie Billups made seven saves, including five after halftime. Johns Hopkins goalkeeper Eva Breiland made four saves after replacing starter Stephanie Wyszkowski at halftime.
Breiland and Wyszkowski combined for the shutout after both were among the Johns Hopkins seniors honored before the match. Haverford could not cut into Johns Hopkins’ two-goal lead in the second half.
Johns Hopkins University women’s soccer prepares for Bryn Mawr
Head coach Dan Weiler’s Johns Hopkins record improved to 96-14-12 with the victory. After playing nine games in 26 days, Johns Hopkins will have a week off before returning to Centennial Conference action.
Johns Hopkins will play at Bryn Mawr on October 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. in another Centennial Conference game.
