The No. 13 Salisbury University football team will host The Catholic University of America at Sea Gull Stadium at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in the third regular season game of the 2026 season. Salisbury enters the matchup ranked 13th in the D3football.com Top 25 for Week 3 with a 2-0 record.
The Catholic University of America enters the game 0-3 after losses to McDaniel, Carnegie Mellon and Franklin & Marshall. Saturday’s contest will include Youth Day and a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the 1986 Salisbury football team, with former members of the squad honored throughout the weekend.
Salisbury University Football Enters at 2-0
Salisbury University earned its second victory of the season with a 43-13 win over Washington and Lee in its most recent game. The Sea Gulls finished with 473 yards of total offense, including 345 rushing yards, and scored 27 unanswered points in the second half.
Dario Belizaire led Salisbury with 90 rushing yards and 112 receiving yards against Washington and Lee, including a 67-yard touchdown reception. Malachi Dokes scored three rushing touchdowns, while SyRus McGowan accounted for two touchdowns.
On defense, Dylan Lyerly led Salisbury with 12 tackles. Patrick Sheil recorded an interception and six tackles against Washington and Lee.
Salisbury is ranked No. 13 in the D3football.com Top 25 for Week 3. The Sea Gulls compete in NCAA Division III and hold primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference.
They maintain football affiliate membership in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
The Catholic University of America Seeks Its First Win
The Catholic University of America opened the season with a 13-7 loss to McDaniel before falling to Carnegie Mellon, 38-35. The Cardinals then lost to Franklin & Marshall, 31-17, in their most recent game.
Brady McBride threw for a career-high 302 yards and two touchdowns on 37-of-54 passing against Franklin & Marshall. Hunter Boyd recorded seven receptions for 136 yards in his first start of the season, while Wade Farrar finished with nine catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Evan Chromy led Catholic with six tackles against Franklin & Marshall, and Sean Finan recorded a sack. First-year head coach Kory David took over the program in 2026, while new coordinators Shawn Glosek and Drew Erlich joined the coaching staff this season.
Series History and Salisbury University Football Schedule
Saturday’s game will be the ninth meeting between Salisbury University and The Catholic University of America. Salisbury leads the all-time series 6-2 and has won the last three meetings, including a 55-6 victory at Cardinal Stadium on Sept. 27, 2025.
Following the matchup with Catholic, Salisbury University football will open New Jersey Athletic Conference play at The College of New Jersey on Oct. 3. The Sea Gulls will return home Oct. 10 to host Rowan University for Homecoming.
