Mount St. Mary’s University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will begin the 2026-2027 season Saturday, September 26, at the Charm City Relays. Loyola University will host the event at the Mangione Aquatic Center in Baltimore, with competition scheduled to start at noon.
Mount St. Mary’s University Swimming and Diving Season Opener
The Charm City Relays mark the first competition of the season for both Mount St. Mary’s swimming and diving teams. The field includes Loyola, Bryn Mawr, and Johns Hopkins.
Both Mount St. Mary’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams finished sixth in the 2025-2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference campaign. Multiple swimmers from both teams later competed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
Returners Todor Gospodinov and Carmen Del Aguila
Todor Gospodinov is a key returner for the men’s team. At the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, he finished eighth in the men’s 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:45.32 and placed fourth in the B-final of the men’s 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 48.50.
Carmen Del Aguila is a key returner for the women’s team, having placed fourth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.30.
Charm City Relays Field
Mount St. Mary’s will compete against Loyola, Bryn Mawr, and Johns Hopkins at the Charm City Relays. Competition begins at noon Saturday at Loyola University’s Mangione Aquatic Center in Baltimore.
