University of Maryland, Baltimore County’s UMBC Athletics department has entered into a multi-year renewal of its partnership with Under Armour, which will remain the official outfitter of the Retrievers. The agreement, announced Sept. 24, 2026, covers training and game-day footwear, apparel and equipment for all 17 Retriever athletic teams.
Under Armour has served as UMBC Athletics’ exclusive outfitter since 2012. The renewed partnership also expands access to Under Armour gear for club and intramural athletes through the University’s Department of Recreation and Club Sports.
Under Armour Partnership Expands Across UMBC
The agreement includes custom-designed gear for UMBC student-athletes and exclusive apparel for UMBC fans. Under Armour is based in Baltimore, while UMBC has described itself as Baltimore’s college team.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Under Armour,” said Tiffany D. Tucker, UMBC’s Director of Athletics & Physical Education. “UA is deeply connected to Baltimore as its corporate home, and we’re Baltimore’s college team. Our student-athletes will benefit from custom-designed gear tailored to their needs, while UMBC fans can look forward to exclusive apparel that lets them showcase their Retriever pride like never before.”

410 Invitational Adds Baltimore Basketball Connection
Under Armour also announced the inaugural 410 Invitational, a college basketball tournament featuring University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Loyola University Maryland, Morgan State University and Towson University. The event is part of the 2026-27 collegiate basketball schedule and will include men’s and women’s teams from each participating school.
The men’s opening-round games are scheduled for Nov. 12, 2026. Loyola University Maryland will play at Towson University, while Morgan State University will play at UMBC.
The women’s opening-round games are scheduled for Nov. 13, 2026. Towson University will play at Loyola University Maryland, while Morgan State University will play at UMBC. Towson University will host the championship round of the inaugural tournament.
Under Armour will host programming at its global headquarters on the Baltimore Peninsula and a media day on Oct. 28, 2026, featuring athletic directors and coaches from the participating schools.
