Stare opened the scoring after Salem (WV) gave the ball away, dribbling forward before curling a shot past Gregory Lynch from just outside the 18-yard box. He added his second goal after Lynhton Romage found him with a backheel pass, giving the Bobcats a 2-0 lead.
Salem (WV) cut the deficit when Dylan Vaughn scored off an assist from Copper West. Jordan Johnson later converted a penalty kick to tie the match at 2-2, but Stare restored Frostburg State’s lead when his corner kick found the net during a goal-line scramble.
With less than a minute remaining, Stare assisted David Williams on the final goal. Williams scored his first career Frostburg State goal into an empty net after Salem goalkeeper Gregory Lynch had gone forward for a set piece, securing the 4-2 final score.

Both teams recorded 17 shots, while Frostburg State put nine attempts on target compared with six for Salem (WV). Josiah Emerson made the early saves for the Bobcats before Julian Quirk entered the match and recorded a second-half save.
The victory moved Frostburg State to 5-1-2, while Salem (WV) fell to 2-4-2. Frostburg State was scheduled to host Virginia State on Sept. 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. for Senior Day.
