Salisbury University Field Hockey Moves to No. 2
Salisbury University field hockey earned 455 points to secure sole possession of second place in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll. Christopher Newport remains No. 1 with 475 points, while Tufts ranks third with 438 points.
The Sea Gulls improved to 5-0 after overcoming a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat then-No. 4 Johns Hopkins 4-1. Salisbury scored four unanswered goals during a 15-minute stretch in the second half.
Dakotah Trader scored twice during that run. Layla Kent and Ryan Lowe each recorded one goal and one assist.
Salisbury University field hockey is scheduled to visit No. 11 Stevenson on Wednesday, Sept. 23, before traveling to St. Mary’s College of Maryland on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Salisbury University Football Climbs to No. 13
Salisbury University football climbed to No. 13 in the D3football.com Top 25, Week 3, with 300 points. No. 12 Endicott held the spot ahead of Salisbury with 304 points, while No. 14 Susquehanna followed with 281 points.
The Sea Gulls improved to 2-0 with a 43-13 victory over Washington & Lee at Sea Gull Stadium. Salisbury outscored Washington & Lee 27-0 in the second half.
Dario Belizaire, a slot back, recorded 202 all-purpose yards and one touchdown to receive the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive weekly award. Defensive back Dylan Lyerly recorded 12 tackles and a blocked PAT to earn the conference’s Defensive weekly award.
Salisbury University football is scheduled to host Catholic University on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m.
Salisbury University Women’s Volleyball Receives Votes
Salisbury University women’s volleyball received eight points in the AVCA-Taraflex Division III WVB Poll released Sept. 22. The total tied for the 16th-most points in the receiving-votes tier.
The Sea Gulls went 2-1 at the Batten Quad, sweeping Benedictine in both meetings before losing to then-No. 18 Batten in the finale. Setter Julie Altieri surpassed 3,000 career assists, becoming the fourth Salisbury Sea Gull to reach this milestone.
Salisbury University women’s volleyball is scheduled to play at Swarthmore on Friday, Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m. The Sea Gulls will then face DeSales on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and Widener at 6:30 p.m.

Salisbury University earned updated national recognition across field hockey, football, and women’s volleyball. Field hockey reached undisputed No. 2 after opening the season 5-0, football moved to No. 13 after starting 2-0, and women’s volleyball joined the receiving-votes tier.
