Frostburg State University women’s volleyball earned its first Mountain East Conference win of the season Tuesday, defeating Point Park, 3-2, in Pittsburgh, Pa. Alliyah McNair led the comeback with a career-high 19 kills and a .353 hitting percentage as the Bobcats overcame a 2-1 deficit.
Frostburg State improved to 4-8, while Point Park fell to 2-8. The Bobcats won by set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 23-25, 25-19 and 15-5.
Early Dominance and Mid-Match Struggles
Frostburg State controlled the opening set, winning 25-14, but Point Park answered with victories in the second and third sets. The Bobcats responded in the fourth set, taking it 25-19 to send the match to a deciding fifth set.
Frostburg State opened the final set with a 7-1 lead and closed out the match, 15-5. The Bobcats finished with a .267 team hitting percentage, compared with .109 for Point Park.
McNair and Key Players Power the Offense
McNair led Frostburg State with 19 kills and a .353 hitting percentage. Gabrielle Morris recorded a match-high five blocks, while Miranda Ball finished with 13 digs.
Emery Kuebler added 24 assists. Ball and Rhea Shetty combined for 19 assists in the victory.

Frostburg State is scheduled to host Davis & Elkins on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 7 p.m. The match will follow the Bobcats’ first conference win of the season.
