Coppin State University men’s golf finished fifth at the seven-team Laker Fall Invitational, while Brent Chung earned runner-up honors at Lake View Country Club in North East, Pa. Coppin State University posted a three-round score of 887 (+23) and closed with the tournament’s best round.
The Eagles shot 1-over 289 in the final round to finish ahead of Wagner (+36) and Saint Francis (+59). Coppin State University opened with rounds of 298 and 300 before recording its final-round 289.
Brent Chung and Tzari Baines Finish in Top Three
Brent Chung finished runner-up with a three-round total of 214 (-2). He carded rounds of 74, 71 and 69 (-3), and his final-round 69 tied for the second-lowest round of the tournament.
Tzari Baines finished third overall at 215 (-1), one stroke behind Chung. Baines recorded rounds of 73, 72 and 70.
Marcos Cordoba tied for 19th at 223 (+10) after rounds of 74, 76 and 76. Alexei Voice tied for 37th at 239 (+26), while Mylhian Todem finished 39th individually at 243 (+27). Jevahn Sathasivam placed 40th at 244 (+28) and recorded a final-round 74.
UMass Amherst Wins Team Championship
UMass Amherst won the team championship at 871 (+7). Host Mercyhurst finished second at 876 (+12), followed by Malone at 883 (+19), Mercyhurst B at 886 (+22) and Coppin State University at 887 (+23).
The Laker Fall Invitational was Coppin State University’s second event of the 2026-27 season and its first as a full team. The Eagles are scheduled to return to action September 28-29 at East Carolina’s Ironwood Collegiate Classic at Ironwood CC in Greenville, N.C.
