The South Carolina Stingrays Have Four Players in American Hockey League Training Camps, with defenseman Aidan Hreschuk and forwards Josh Prokop and Ryan Sandelin participating in the Hershey Bears Training Camp. Defenseman Luke Prokop is participating in the Bakersfield Condors Training Camp.
The South Carolina Stingrays are ECHL affiliates of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the AHL’s Hershey Bears. The club will announce the schedule and roster for its 2026 training camp, presented by Ethos Athletic Club, at a later date.
Aidan Hreschuk, Josh Prokop and Ryan Sandelin Join Hershey Camp
Aidan Hreschuk signed with the South Carolina Stingrays on July 30 and is entering his second season of professional hockey. The Long Beach, California, native played 61 games for the Idaho Steelheads last season, recording 21 points on two goals and 19 assists, and added one assist in three appearances with the Texas Stars in the AHL.
Hreschuk played four seasons at Boston College before turning professional. He finished his college career with 38 points, including six goals and 32 assists, in 146 games.
Josh Prokop agreed to terms with the South Carolina Stingrays on Aug. 13 and is set to begin his second full season of professional hockey. The Edmonton, Alberta, native played seven games with the Bakersfield Condors at the end of the 2024-25 season, recording three points on one goal and two assists.
Prokop also played 47 games for Herning Blue Fox of Metal Ligaen last season. He recorded 36 points, including 17 goals and 19 assists, and helped the club win a Danish Championship.
Ryan Sandelin spent a majority of the last three seasons in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles and Iowa Wild. He recorded nine points on six goals and three assists in 37 games with Colorado during the 2023-24 season and added three goals and three assists in seven games with the Utah Grizzlies.
Sandelin then played 108 games with Iowa over the following two seasons, recording 24 points on 11 goals and 13 assists. He has 34 points, including 18 goals and 16 assists, in 149 AHL games.
Luke Prokop Participates in Bakersfield Camp
Luke Prokop enters his fifth season of professional hockey after playing 42 games with the Bakersfield Condors last season. The Edmonton, Alberta, native recorded 11 points on three goals and eight assists with the Condors.
The Nashville Predators selected Prokop in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut during the 2022-23 season with the Norfolk Admirals, scoring one goal in eight games.
Prokop later recorded 28 points on five goals and 23 assists in 55 games with the Atlanta Gladiators, while adding two assists in nine games with the Milwaukee Admirals. He made 31 appearances for Milwaukee in 2024-25 and recorded four points on one goal and three assists.
South Carolina Stingrays Opening Night Set
The South Carolina Stingrays will return to the North Charleston Coliseum for Opening Night, presented by MUSC Health, on Saturday, Oct. 17, against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at 6:05 p.m. The 2026 South Carolina Stingrays Training Camp schedule and roster remain to be announced.
