The Frostburg State University Women’s Volleyball Team lost to Concord, 3-0, on Friday evening in Frostburg, Maryland. Concord won the match 25-21, 25-16 and 25-22 as Frostburg State celebrated Youth Bobcat Day.
The result moved Frostburg State to 3-8 overall and 0-1 in the Mountain East Conference, while Concord improved to 9-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Frostburg State Women’s Volleyball Leaders
Alliyah McNair led Frostburg State with 13 kills. Maya Johnson and Grace Yocham each recorded six kills, while Emery Kuebler finished with 16 assists. Miranda Ball led the team with 12 digs. Kuebler served three aces, and Ball added one ace.
Concord Wins Each Set
Frostburg State took a 9-7 lead in the opening set after kills from Grace Yocham and Adele Evans, along with a service ace from Miranda Ball. After Concord regained the lead, two kills by Alliyah McNair and an ace from Emery Kuebler helped Frostburg move ahead 18-15. Concord then scored seven consecutive points and won the set 25-21.
The teams were tied early in the second set before Frostburg State built a 10-5 advantage. Gabrielle Morris recorded the first kill during the run, Maya Johnson added two kills, and Pia White served an ace. Concord responded with an 8-1 run and closed the set with the final six points to win 25-16.
McNair opened the third set with back-to-back kills, and Morris added a block as Frostburg State stayed within reach early. Concord moved ahead 13-4, but the Bobcats cut the deficit to 17-14 after two aces by Kuebler. Frostburg moved within 23-21 after two Yocham kills before Concord finished the set 25-22.
Frostburg State Women’s Volleyball Team Heads to Point Park
Frostburg State is scheduled to play at Point Park on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. This match will be the team’s next contest following the loss to Concord.

Frostburg State created leads in the first two sets and made a late push in the third, but Concord secured the three-set victory. Concord recorded a .196 hitting percentage compared with Frostburg State’s .095 mark.
McNair’s 13 kills and Ball’s 12 digs led Frostburg State’s individual production. The Bobcats will return to action at Point Park on Sept. 22.
