Bowie State Bulldogs football will feature four themed home games during the 2026 season, including Cool Mac Day and Staff Appreciation Day, Heroes Day and Gold Rush, the 91st Homecoming celebration, and recognition for graduating student-athletes and their families. Bowie State Bulldogs Football Home Theme Schedule
Bowie State will host Shaw on Saturday, Oct. 3, for Cool Mac Day and Staff Appreciation Day. Fans are encouraged to wear black while Bowie State recognizes its faculty and staff. The game also will honor the legacy of Dr. Clyde Doughty, Jr., through an in-game tribute and social media storytelling, and a commemorative Cool Mac Day towel will be distributed.
Virginia Union will visit Bowie State on Saturday, Oct. 17, for Heroes Day and Gold Rush. The game will recognize military personnel, first responders, healthcare workers, educators and other heroes through special recognitions. Gold Rush T-shirts will be distributed while supplies last.
Bowie State will host Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, Oct. 24, for the university’s 91st Homecoming celebration. The Bulldogs will close the listed home theme lineup Saturday, Nov. 7, against Lincoln (Pa.), when Bowie State Athletics will recognize graduating student-athletes and their families through an on-field recognition and commemorative experience.
All four listed home games are Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference games.
