Stephanie Buttons posted the first double-double of her career as the McDaniel College women’s volleyball team defeated Wilson College, 3-0, on September 15, 2026, at Gannett Field House in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. McDaniel won the match 25-18, 25-17, 25-9, improving to 6-1 overall.
Buttons recorded a career-high 12 kills along with 11 digs and six service aces. She committed three errors in 22 attempts and finished with a .409 hitting percentage.
McDaniel Controls the Match
The Green Terror used a 6-1 run to break a 4-4 tie in the opening set and took a 10-5 lead. McDaniel recorded three service aces in the set, including two from first-year player Arrian Spratt, extending the advantage to as many as nine points.
McDaniel opened the second set with a 13-4 lead and never trailed. Buttons recorded six of her 12 kills in the set as the Green Terror moved within one set of the sweep.
After the third set reached an 8-8 tie, McDaniel scored 14 consecutive points behind Buttons’ serve. Buttons recorded five service aces during the run, while Mariya Carson added three kills and Wilson committed five attack errors.
Balanced Effort Leads to Victory
Carson finished with a season-high 11 kills and a .647 hitting percentage. Kaitlyn Saidat added seven kills and six total blocks, while Cassy Poteet contributed 24 assists, two service aces, four digs and three blocks.
McDaniel totaled 39 kills, a .333 hitting percentage, 13 service aces and 11 total blocks. Wilson fell to 0-7 overall. McDaniel competes in the Centennial Conference, while Wilson is a member of the United East Conference.
This victory marked McDaniel’s sixth win in seven matches and its best start in four years. The Green Terror was 7-1 after a 3-0 home win over Wilson on September 15, 2023.

McDaniel will host Stevenson and Marymount (Va.) in a tri-match at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Gill Center.
