Alex Busick Scores Twice as Notre Dame of Maryland Women’s Soccer Defeats Penn St.-Schuylkill 5-0

BALTIMORE — Alex Busick scored twice, including the opening goal 88 seconds into the match, as the Notre Dame of Maryland women’s soccer team defeated Penn St.-Schuylkill 5-0 Tuesday at Turf Field Sponsored by the SSNDs. Notre Dame of Maryland scored all five goals in the first half and improved to 2-3 on the season.

Notre Dame of Maryland Scores Five Before Halftime

Taylor Edwards assisted Busick on the opening goal, before Ava Tippett doubled Notre Dame of Maryland’s lead three minutes later. Ten minutes after Tippett’s goal, Sophie Wisniewski assisted Busick on her second score of the match.

Edwards scored five minutes later, finishing off her rebound, and Adrienne Villa completed the first-half scoring by converting a loose ball from a corner kick. Busick now has four goals this season, a total that ranks second in the conference.

Notre Dame of Maryland Controls Match

Notre Dame of Maryland outshot Penn St.-Schuylkill 33-5 and recorded 13 shots on target. Penn St.-Schuylkill finished with three shots on goal.

Leah Hasberry and Emmalee Corbin combined for the shutout, playing one half each in goal. Hasberry made two saves, while Corbin made one save.

Ariana Rodriguez was the only Notre Dame of Maryland player to play all 90 minutes. The Gators are scheduled to host Susquehanna on Friday.
