Johns Hopkins University women’s soccer defeated Kenyon, 3-0, on Sept. 13 in Gambier, Ohio, giving head coach Dan Weiler his 350th career victory. The 15th-ranked Blue Jays scored twice in the first half and added a goal in the 83rd minute to improve to 3-0-2.
Carolyn Johnson opened the scoring at 17:06 with her first goal of the season and the 17th of her career. Kendall Frederick added her first goal of the season just over a minute before halftime, sending Johns Hopkins into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Freshman Katie Derby completed the scoring in the 83rd minute with the first goal of her career. Kenyon goalkeeper Lila Michael saved Derby’s initial shot, but Derby collected the rebound, moved around a defender and finished into an open net.

Johns Hopkins finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots and earned all four corner kicks. Ella Kruntchev made two saves and recorded her third shutout of the season, which was the 12th of her career.
Kenyon goalkeeper Ariel Kite started the match, and Michael made two saves after entering at halftime. The Blue Jays held a 6-1 advantage in first-half shots before the teams evenly split 14 shots after halftime.
Milestone Victory for Dan Weiler
The victory moved Weiler’s 24-year career record to 350-93-48. His record at Johns Hopkins improved to 93-13-12.
Johns Hopkins will host Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Homewood Field at 4 p.m. The match will be the Blue Jays’ final nonconference game of the year.
