Stevenson University womens soccer lost to Elizabethtown, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Hoover Field in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Linnet Laiser scored in the ninth minute for Elizabethtown, which improved to 2-0-2. Stevenson fell to 0-3-1 on the season.
Karly Sheahan recorded Stevensons first shot less than a minute after the goal. Ashley Bowman added an attempt in the 12th minute, and Grace Fay registered another opportunity in the 23rd minute, but Stevenson entered halftime trailing 1-0.
Stevenson University Womens Soccer Applies Second-Half Pressure
Stevenson created more offensive pressure after halftime and outshot Elizabethtown 7-4 in the second half. Jenna Keener recorded two attempts during the opening three minutes of the period, while Kailyn Beall added a shot in the 54th minute.
Keener recorded Stevensons first shot on goal in the 60th minute, but Elizabethtown turned away the attempt. Beall added another opportunity less than two minutes later, and Sheahan recorded a shot in the 80th minute.
Saleigha Fennel put a shot on frame less than a minute after Sheahans attempt, but Elizabethtown made the save. Keener led Stevenson with three shots, while Sheahan and Beall each recorded two. Fennel and Keener accounted for Stevensons two shots on goal.
Isabella Serano Makes 11 Saves
Isabella Serano finished the afternoon with 11 saves for Stevenson. Elizabethtown held its 1-0 advantage through the remainder of the match.
